"There are lots of martial arts schools, why INNOVATION?"

Atmosphere and experience. Our classes are taught in a friendly and collaborative environment. Rather than teacher and student, we are all a team. The quality of training is world-class. We have a structured curriculum and training plan for every team member that will help you to achieve great results while you have fun! Innovation Karate and Jujutsu has been operating since 1997 and has an excellent reputation in South Australia.

"I have no experience and/or I'm not in shape"

That's fine! You don't need any experience to start, but you do need to start to get somewhere. We are very supportive and will work with you step by step, no matter what your background, gender, age or physical fitness level. Our classes are suitable for everyone.

For your first class, just come along in plain clothes such as track-pants and a t-shirt. You don't need anything else to start.

"What specifically do you teach?"

"Koryu Uchinadi Kenpo Jutsu". This is a very comprehensive and cohesive martial art trained in most countries around the world and systematised by the world-renowned fighter and Karate historian, Hanshi Patrick McCarthy. It's a traditional system that is highly functional and covers all combative elements;

"Uke" - Blocking & Receiving Strikes
"Gyaku" - Escapes and Counters
"Atemi" - Striking (ie; Punches, Kicks, Knees, Elbows & Clinchwork)
"Kansetsu/Tuite" - Locks, Holds and Manipulation
"Shimme" - Chokes and Strangles
"Nage" - Balance Displacement (throws)
"Ne" - Ground Fighting
"Tegumi" - Seamless Flow between each element
